LOCAL company Optional Air has made a timely mobile disinfecting booth invention that is set
to bolster the fight against the spread of the new coronavirus pandemic.
The founding boss of the company Fungai Mwali said their latest innovation was tailor-made to
add value in the fight against Covid 19 pandemic.
“It’s a walk-in disinfecting booth designed by I designed in conjunction with Ministry of Health
and Child Care.
“The booth is one of its kind and has the capacity to disinfect surface virus with 30 seconds to 1
minute.


As part of its corporate social responsibility efforts, the company also donated a booth to
Wilkins Infectious Diseases hospital in buses and many more are available for sell.
Optional Air was formed in 1997, its founder Mwali trained in South Africa and worked for
Panasonic Zimbabwe and Air Technicians before he begun Optional Air in 1997.
For the past 23 years under his technical leadership, Optional Air has done exceptionally well
and has acquired vast amounts of experience and exposure to most of the challenges in air
conditioning and refrigeration systems.
Currently Optional Air holds the largest market share in air conditioning and refrigeration
industry of Zimbabwe, with some projects as far as Tanzania and Zambia.
The company has two branches, one in Bulawayo and head office in Harare situated at number
30 boundary Road, Highlands in Harare.
Optional-air is committed to provide its services 24hrs throughout regardless of holidays and
weekends.
The company also specializes in duct work designs, fabrication and installation under the
ventilation department.

requirements.
