LUCK run out for four border jumpers who illegally returned to Zimbabwe to attend a funeral
after they were reported by an alert community in Umzingwane District in Matabeleland South
province.

The country has witnessed an alarming spike in Covid-19 cases and most of those who tested
positive were returning residents.

According to Information ministry’s permanent secretary Nick Mangwana the quartet who had
skipped the border into the country to attend a funeral, were placed under mandatory quarantine.
“Umzingwane District yesterday (Wednesday) received four people who illegally sneaked into
the country to attend a funeral. They were reported by the community and they are now
quarantined at Esikhoveni Training Institute. The community took responsibility for its own
safety.”

This comes as over 100 people have escaped from quarantine facilities nationwide.
