Momentors Programme founder and philanthropist Maureen Mbondiah Mandipaza, who is based in the United Kingdom is donating two-in-one blankets to 100 widows and women with disabilities on Saturday at an event set to be graced by prolific gospel musician Minister Michael Mahendere.

Mbondiah told Zim Community News that she was raising funds for The Momentors Winter Warmer Campaign that will be held this week.

Recently she donated personal protective equipment and groceries to women with disabilities in Harare and Chitungwiza.

The donation came on a day when Zimbabwe’s president Emmerson Mnangagwa extended the

coronavirus-induced national lockdown by a further two weeks putting further strain to the vulnerable

people in the country.

The cash-strapped government is struggling to provide social safety nets to cushion millions of

thousands of urbanites who eke out a living through vending.

The donations were livestreamed on Zim Community News Facebook page with the ambassador for disability at African Union Youth Council Nyasha Nhau handing over the goods to the beneficiaries.
