‘Don’t relax, Covid-19 not limited to returnees’

GOVERNMENT yesterday urged Zimbabweans to remain vigilant as Covid-19 positive cases rise in the country. Minister of Information Monica Mutsvangwa.

To date the number of confirmed cases in the country is 574 with seven deaths.

During the weekly Cabinet media briefing the Minister of Information Monica Mutsvangwa urged the nation to observe the WHO recommended protective and preventative measures to assist in combating Covid-19.

“Let us not become lax thinking that this virus is limited to returnees. We have to be vigilant and work collectively.

“Let us stay safe out there, minimize movement, sanitize and wash our hands, and observe social distancing.” has warned retailers against refusing local currency from customers.

Meanwhile, government has warned retailers who were refusing local currency from customers preferring foreign currency.

Mutsvangwa said they had received reports that some shops and business owners were refusing to accept local currency as legal tender for goods and services.

“We wish to reiterate that the Zimbabwean dollar is a legal medium of exchange and should be accepted.
