MUTASA South losing Zanu PF parliamentary candidate Misheck Mugadza has kept the promise he made after elections that he would continue to work to uplift people in the constituency.
Mugadza, with the help of other well-wishers, recently donated Covid-19 personal protective equipment (PPEs) to eight schools in resettlement areas in Mutasa South constituency.
“l looked for well-wishers to provide for preventative equipment against Covid 19 to schools in resettlement areas, together with some well-wishers in Mutare,” he said
They donated face masks, sanitisers, gloves, liquid soap, among other PPE’s worth about ZWL$100 000.
Mugadza said there was need to mobilise more resources ahead of November 9, when all school grades are set to open.
He said the donation comes after some schools were forced to advise pupils to bring their own PPEs.
“l had already realised the need to donate Covid-19 equipment to schools in resettlement areas because this is where most under privileged children are staying and we donated to eight schools in the constituency,” he said.
He has already approached the Manicaland Provincial Affairs minister Ellen Gwaradzimba to help source for more PPEs.
“This is just the beginning , we are liasing with the Manicaland Provincil Affairs minister Ellen Gwaradzimba to look for more donations ahead of the real openings of the schools on November 9,” he said
“The government has done its part and we also need to compliment the government efforts in stopping Covid 19,” he said
He also challenged Zimbabweans to guard against the second wave of Covid-19.
