HEARTFELT prayers and a willingness to learn better ways of producing music are the cornerstone of Mutare-based gospel diva Dorcas Moyo’s phenomenal rise to fame in the local gospel industry.
Growing up with a passion for music, Moyo also revealed to Zim Community News Gospel that she begun singing at the tender age of six years.
She was the youngest member of the praise and worship team at a branch of the Apostolic Faith Mission in Zimbabwe, then.
“I grew up with music deposited in me,” she said.
The songstress pointed out that she chose to be a gospel musician because it was another way of ministering the word of God to people.
Moyo whose music is trending on local radio stations has nine singles and five albums under her belt.
The albums are entitled “Zvininipise”, “Ndibatsirei Mwari”, “Pamarah Tapfuura”, “Ndinokutungamirira” and “Ndokushevedzai Jesu”.
She is busy working on her sixth album set to be launched early next year.
The musician also took time to advise upcoming gospel artistes to be patient and humble as this was critical in order to enjoy success in the gospel music industry.
“My advice to them is that they should fear God, pray more and remain humble, the musical industry requires patience and humbleness,” she said.
She thanked her fans and family for the great support they are showering her with during her journey in music.
