A CANDIDATE in the recent Zanu PF Masvingo Urban primary elections, James Pande has vowed to ensure that President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s 5 Million votes target is met.
Pande also called on party leaders, he accused of rigging the internal elections to resign immediately in shame.
In a video trending on social media, the popular youthful politician accused party leaders of sabotaging Mnangagwa ahead of the national elections.
“What happened in Masvingo was not an isolated case, it was nationwide, it’s not targeted at the candidate but the president himself.
“How can we say in Masvingo we have 2 300 people only who are rallying behind the president, let us put my candidacy aside and look at youth participation
“ You can’t chase away the president’s people from voting, where did you get that power? Masvingo urban has over 30 000 supporters who are among the 5 million votes the president is targeting.
“Whether you are a leader at the national level, provincial level or district level you have to be answerable, those failing to do their jobs should go , we are not going back on this one, we will do whatever it takes for the president to get 5 million votes.”
Pande hit the headlines when his name was among the thousands of bona fide Zanu PF members in Masvingo who failed to vote as there were not on the new cell registers.
He echoed the similar concerns raised by Zvimba North MP Phillip Chiyangwa and Norton legislator, Temba Mliswa that the internal elections were rigged to oust anti-Mnangagwa candidates in favour of G40 members.
